Qur’an and Islamic Studies

These courses constitute the “Rope of Islam” to hold onto and InshaAllah to lead to the hereafter. They are taught to instill an understanding of Islam, a desire to practice Islam, an appreciation of the Qur’an as the Guide to mankind and a sense of responsibility to spread the message to all of humanity.

  Prayer (Salat)

As an Islamic School, the Universal Academy of Pittsburgh aims at strongly adhering to the commands of Allah (S.W.T.) It is therefore the school’s duty to schedule time for Zuhr prayer, at its prescribed time during the school schedule.

We aim to instill a life long practice of daily prayer for our students by establishing a daily routine of prayer and worship. Students in the 1st – 7th grades also attend Salat al-Jumah (Friday Prayer) weekly.
